The Dorset Arms is a true gem with a fantastic menu featuring sensational meals that will leave your taste buds dancing. The friendly vibe of the place, coupled with the character-rich surroundings and spacious beer garden, makes it a perfect retreat. And let's not forget the excellent local ales in top-notch condition! They really know how to mix a good time with great food.
I did encounter some hiccups with the weak wi-fi, which was a real bother since I was hoping for a quiet working retreat. The response from management wasn't as smooth, making it a bit of a frustrating experience. I'd suggest management focus on clear communication and help guests feel more at home.

During my recent stay, I truly enjoyed the spacious beer garden and the character-rich surroundings. The meals were sensational, and the local ales were in top-notch condition, making the dining experience a highlight of my visit. I faced some hiccups with weak wi-fi and management's communication could improve, but these minor issues didn't overshadow the overall experience.

missingWrote a review on Jul 12spacious gardenlocally sourced cuisinelow water pressure
The spacious beer garden offers a nice retreat for a pint after a day out. The character-rich environment creates a cozy vibe. The locally sourced menu features some genuinely tasty options, making meals worthwhile.
The Wi-Fi connectivity left much to be desired, often dropping and making it difficult to stay connected. The room we were in could use some modern décor, as the current setup felt a bit outdated and uninspiring. Water pressure in the shower was disappointingly low, requiring an extended time to get a decent rinse—definitely not the best way to start a day. Breakfast lacked variety, feeling more like an afterthought with minimal options. the ambiance during breakfast was rather dull, with tables set for lunch which detracted from the morning experience.

Historic charm radiates through the cozy design and elegance of the rooms. The unique architecture provides a nostalgic touch that stands out in a world of modern hotel chains.
Charged £120 for a twin room with a shared bathroom is a tough pill to swallow. The bathroom looked lovely, but lacking an en-suite made it feel overpriced. Evening meals left much to be desired—the food felt ordinary and didn’t justify the cost. The decor throughout needs updating. it feels like it hasn't seen fresh ideas in ages. The breakfast experience could use a complete overhaul—three jars of cereal paired with self-serve toast just doesn't cut it for the price point. Wifi performance was abysmal, constantly logging us off. Condensation in the room was a nuisance, with windows dripping, and the blind showing signs of mould didn't help matters. the bathroom setup had a missing trim on the step to the sink, which felt unpolished and made it seem less safe.

It was just a top selection for exploring town in Groombridge with excellent value for money. The bathroom for the shared rooms was convenient, just across the corridor. Make sure to bring your own toiletries.

Just a reliable pick for a short visit in Groombridge with reasonable price. The bed was decent enough for a quick rest. Make sure to check the condition of the bathroom before settling in.
